Plan with the official agency
The official conservation-area activity list affirmatively allows squirrel and rabbit hunting; ordinary small-game permits are sold directly. No managed-hunt draw is specified for these species.
No lottery is required for the described access and species. Other hunts on the same property may require a drawing. Check current seasons, closures, check-in and capacity before traveling; open access does not reserve an exclusive spot.
Agency sources reviewed 2026-10-07. Current seasons verified at https://mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/seasons/squirrel-hunting and https://mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/seasons/rabbit-hunting. Other species may require separate permits; only listed small game is included. Public entry is arranged with the agency, with no Back40 booking fee.
