Your hunting party
Landowners choose the whole-party daily access price. Every participating hunter must be named and covered by the paid booking; one person can pay for the group. Extra, unregistered hunters cannot join.
If a hunter cancels
- At least 7 days (168 hours) before the start: full access-price refund.
- At least 48 hours, but less than 168 hours before the start: 50% access-price refund.
- Less than 48 hours before the start, or a no-show: no routine access-price refund.
Cutoffs use elapsed hours against the property's recorded start timestamp and timezone. Any tax refund follows the applicable tax treatment.
If the owner cancels or access is unavailable
If the owner cannot provide the agreed access, you receive a full refund, including any collected platform service charge. Refunds are complete when the payment provider confirms them.
If the property cannot provide the agreed safe, legal access, the parties may mutually accept a reschedule or receive a full refund. Routine rain, poor wildlife activity, or no harvest does not automatically qualify for a refund. Contested circumstances require operator review.
Full-season leases have their own agreement
The daily cancellation and post-hunt payout schedule does not automatically apply to a season-long lease. Each season agreement needs its own exact dates, total price, payment and release schedule, included guest privileges, maximum occupancy, guest registration, and termination/refund terms.
Property verification comes first
Paid bookings require an eligible, independently reviewed property and an authorized owner account. Account sign-in and payout onboarding do not establish ownership or permission to hunt. The accepted property agreement and confirmed booking must cover your exact party and dates.
Landowner fees & payout terms
Listing is free. A 15% landowner commission applies to the retained access subtotal and covers standard payment processing. Hunters pay no separate Back40 service fee. Required taxes and the full total are shown before payment.
Hunters pay when accepting an owner-approved quote during a valid date hold. Only a confirmed booking grants access.
Owner transfers are targeted for 48 hours after the hunt ends, subject to settled payment, completed payout setup and any cancellation, refund or dispute review. Bank processing takes additional time.
After a refund, owner and platform shares adjust proportionately. Back40 covers unrecovered standard processing costs.
