Who may qualify: An owner or other party with the legal right to grant access may propose suitable private land, water, or a corridor that opens otherwise inaccessible public land.

Owner control: The written lease identifies allowed activities and property conditions. Owners may authorize vehicle routes or impose reasonable restrictions, although restrictions can reduce compensation.

Official next step: Contact the regional Walk-In Access program manager listed by DWR to discuss the property and provide ownership and boundary documentation.
